Mechanical Engineer Position Summary

Trimech is looking for a Solidworks Designer for an innovative company utilizing Carbon Nano Tube and X-ray technologies to develop integrated systems for medical and security applications.  Reporting to the Technical Program Manager for X-ray tube development, the Mechanical Engineer will support the development of x-ray tubes with design concepts and documentation, and other contributions as part of the Engineering team. The ideal candidate will be a strong utility player that is able to take on a diverse set of tasks and work with all departments in the organization.

Responsibilities
  • Design complex parts and assemblies (metal, ceramics) with small tolerances
  • Generate ideas and solutions for new projects as well as engineering support for current products
  • Interface with development team on project requirements and design goals
  • Provide assistance for building of laboratory test systems
  • Supplier evaluation and technical issue resolution
  • Perform design analysis (tolerance stack-ups), risk analysis,  root cause analysis, and DFMEA
  • design with knowledge of welding, seals, sealing techniques,  ultra tight vacuums, high precision parts

Qualifications:
  • BS or MS mechanical engineering with 3+ years of experience in the design and development of production level products
  • Analytical engineering skills such as structural, thermal, and dimensional
  • Experience with welding and brazing technologies
  • Experience consisting of at least 5000 hours of Solidworks and/or similar CAD programs
  • Geometric dimensioning and tolerance experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Top 5 Necessities
  • 1.) Experienced designer comfortable with being a CAD Jockey working with complex assemblies
  • 2.) Manufacturing drawings and prints experience - stack tolerances and GD&T
  • 3.) Comfortable in fast paced culture - short deadlines - must be in office 9-5 and willing to work OT on short deadlins
  • 4.) Familiarity with Welding - lazer, tig, etc.
  • 5.) from a background in x-ray, vacuum science, physics, pressure vessels, small equipment with systems design,
